Override levy passes
The $200,000 override levy sought by School District #242 passed with over 70% voting yes in the election held Tuesday, May 16.
There were 249 yes votes and 89 no votes for a 73.66% yes vote.
In the election for Cottonwood Highway District Commissioner, Doug Johnson won  out over Joel Wasem 142 to 34.
In the election for Fenn Highway District Commissioner, Pat Meyer won over Chris Brannan 19 to 14.
In the election for three Syringa Hospital District Trustees Jerry Zumalt received 724 votes, Joel Cleary received 568 votes and Leta Strauss recived 544 votes to be elected as trustees. A fourth candidate, Shireene Hale received 528 votes.
The permanent override levy for the Grangeville Rural Fire District passed with 167 yes votes against 69 no votes.
The Nezperce School  District  levy passed with 134 yes votes and 45 no votes for a 74.8% yes vote.
