The State Track Meet will take place at Middleton High School this Friday and Saturday, May 19-20.
Field events start at 9 a.m. MDT, Friday, May 19. First up for Prairie will be Sage Elven in the girls shot put at 9 a.m.
At about 10:30 a.m. Shane Hanson will be competing in the boys shot put and Callie Remacle and Sydney Shears will be competing in the girls high jump.
At about noon Sage Elven, Elizabeth Severns and Hailey Hanson will be competing in the girls discus and Avery Riener and Julia Rehder will be competing in the girls long jump.
At about 1:30 p.m. Shane Hanson, Bennie Elven, Lee Forsmann and Zane Uptmor will be competing in the boys discus.
At about 3 p.m. Riener will be competing in the girls triple jump.
At about 5 p.m. Sierra Oliver will be competing in the girls pole vault.
Running prelims will start at 3:30 p.m. with the girls 100 hurdles. The boys 110 hurdles follow then Kristin Wemhoff in the girls and Trenton Lorentz in the boys will be in the 100 meter dash prelims.
The 100 meter dash prelims will be followed by the 400 meter dash prelims with Wemhoff and Noah Geis competing for Prairie.
After a break will be the 300 hurdles prelims then the 200 meter dash prelims with Wemhoff and Lorentz both competing.
The final event of the evening will be the medley relay finals with the Prairie girls competing.
On Saturday the Parade of Athletes will take place at 11:30 a.m. followed by the running finals.
The running finals will be the girls 100 hurdles, boys 110 hurdles, 4x200 relay with Prairie’s girls competing. The 100 meter finals will follow. Next is the 800 meter final with Sydney Shears competing in the girls’ final.
Next will be the 4x100 relay finals with Prairie having both a girls and a boys team competing. Next is the 400 meter finals then a 20 minute break.
After the break the 300 hurdles finals will be followed by the 200 meter dash finals then the 1600 meter run with Shears again competing.
Closing out the meet will be the 4x400 meter finals with Prairie having both a girls and boys team competing.
