Craigmont's June Picnic is this weekend
Craigmont will be celebrating the annual June Picnic Friday, Saturday and Sunday with the theme of “Ring in the Harvest.”
Events start Friday, June 23, with a Parent/Child Cornhole Tournament at 3 p.m. at the City Park.
The Grand Marshal Social Hour and dinner is at 6 p.m. at City Hall. Doug and Cindy Hill are this year’s Grand Marshals.
The Craigmont Lions Club Burger Barn opens at 5 p.m. on Main Street.
Also at 5 p.m. the 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament will start at Highland School, the Co-Ed Softball Tournament will start at Tatko Field and the Winchester Gun Club Fundraiser will be held on Main Street.
Saturday’s events get underway at 7 a.m. with a breakfast put on by the Highland High School FFA at Woody’s Café.
At 8 a.m. the 5K Fun Run/Walk gets started at Highland School. Registration opens at 7:30 a.m.
The Co-Ed Softball Tournament continues at 8 a.m. at Tatko Field.
Also at 8 a.m. the Kelly Robertson Memorial Co-Ed Volleyball Tournament will get underway at the City Park.
The Lions Club Burger Barn reopens at 9 a.m. on Main Street.
The June Picnic Parade start at 10 a.m.  with registration and lineup starting at 8:30 a.m. at A Street and Albion.
From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Prairie Imperial Bowl will be open with bowling at $1 per game.
Concessions in the City Park with be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Ping Pong Ball Drop by pilot Tom Gehring will take place at the City Park at 11:30 a.m.
The American Legion Barbecue also gets started at 11:30 a.m. at the City Park.
Kids Races will start at 11:45 a.m. at the City Park.
The Beergarden at the City Park will open at 11:45 a.m.
A Quilts of Valor presentation will be held at the City Park at 12:30 p.m.
The Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest will be held across from City Hall from 1 to 3 p.m.
From 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Marcos Dominguez will be providing music at the City park.
At 2 p.m. the Horseshow tournament will start in the City Park area.
At 4:30 p.m. the Egg Toss will take place on Main Street. Registration starts at 3:45 p.m.
The Cornhole Tournament will be held behind the Fire Station starting at 5:30 p.m. with registration starting at 5 p.m.
At 7 p.m. the Street Dance will start on Main Street featuring Coltrain Reloaded.
The Craigmont Lions Club’s Gun Raffle will be drawn at 8 p.m. on Main Street.
On Sunday, June 25, the Lions Club will reopen their Burger Barn at 9 a.m.
At 10 a.m. is the final event on the schedule, the ATV/UTV Fun Run which will start from the City Park area.
