On July 13, 2023, an Idaho County Deputy investigated an incident which occurred in the Idaho County Jail.
An inmate had become hostile and threatened to cut deputies with an arrowhead that had been smuggled into the Idaho County Jail.
Frank Giudice, age 30, of Riggins, Idaho was charged with felony introduction of contraband into a jail facility and two counts of felony aggravated assault on certain personnel.

On July 15, 2023, at approximately 01:30 AM, an Idaho County Deputy was on routine patrol in the city of Stites, when he stopped a vehicle for a traffic offense.
K9 Millie was deployed and alerted on the vehicle. A search was then conducted.
The passenger, Nathan Greig, age 33, of Grangeville, Idaho was arrested for felony possession of fentanyl.

Body is found
On July 12, 2023, Idaho County Dispatch received a call from the Payette National Forest Service that a body had been found near Carey Dome Lookout.
Idaho County Detectives responded to the scene with the assistance of the Valley County Coroner. It appeared the man had died of natural causes. No foul play is suspected.
No further details will be released at this time. His name is being withheld pending family notification.
