Water restrictions for Cottonwood
The City of Cottonwood is requesting residents and businesses to Limit Excessive Water Usage.  We are issuing a ‘Voluntary Water Restriction’ at this time.
This issuance is a result of the pump and shaft in one of our wells failing and needing to be replaced.  This has reduced the City to one operating well at this time putting a strain on the system.
This ‘Voluntary Water Restriction’ is about the city and residents working together to protect our water system by limiting excessive and unnecessary water usage.  We believe that with everyone’s help, we can help to protect the system and ensure that no disruption occurs.
We are working to address the necessary repairs for the well, but it is going to take some time to bring the well back on line due to supply chain, availability, and coordination to make sure the repairs will work long term.
Important note:  The current request for ‘Voluntary Water Restrictions’ does not include any need to limit normal water usage for drinking, cooking or cleaning.

Outdoor burning prohibitedThe City of Cottonwood has issued a burn ban for the City of Cottonwood.  This restriction prohibits outdoor burning and will be in effect until further notice.  This order does allow for the use of barbecues and outdoor cookers.
