26 turn out for volleyball
There are 26 girls turned out for volleyball at Prairie High School this fall.

Returning starters are senior Alli Geis, junior Lexi Schumacher and sophomore Kylie Schumacher. Senior Taylor Riener also started several matches last year.
Also part of the varsity squad are senior Ember Martin, juniors Tamden Pecarovich and Kaylie Lockett and sophomores Sierra Oliver and Sydney Shears.
Making up the JV team are juniors Aubree Rehder and Ellie Nuxoll; sophomores Hailey Hanson, Avery Riener, Lacey Schwartz and Breanne Schwartz and freshmen Nadia Cash, Erica Schlader, Avery Kehler and Halee Rowland.
On the C team will be juniors Kadence Kalmbach and Clarise Rehder and freshmen Kennedy Riener, Lillianne Lustig, Lillian Rehder, Maggie Nuxoll and Kylee Riggers.
Julie Schumacher returns as head coach but with junior high volleyball now moved to the fall, Madison Shears will be the new JV coach and Stacy Goicoa will be the C coach. Last year’s JV and C coaches, Erika Shears and Marlene Forsmann, are now the 8th and 7th grade coaches respectively.

Lady Pirates host jamboree
The Prairie Volleyball team hosted an 8-team Jamboree Tuesday, August 22.
The Lady Pirates finished up by winning 4 of 7 one-game matches.
They lost to Kendrick 12-20 then defeated C.V. 20-9 and Timberline 20-17. They lost to Lapwai 17-20 then beat Troy 15-6. Games were shortened from 20 points to 15 when it looked like the 20 points games wouldn’t have them getting done until after 9:30.
They finished up with a win over Nezperce 15-8 and a loss to Kamiah 11-15.
On Saturday, August 26, they traveled to New Plymouth for a tournament. They played against Homedale and lost 0 games to 2 and then lost to Caldwell 1 game to 2. No other details available.
