Runners compete at two meets
The Prairie Cross County team competed at a pair of meets this past week. On Tuesday, Oct. 10, they traveled to Moscow for the Logos Invitational. On Friday, Oct. 13, they traveled to Winchester for the Run Around the Lake.
The Prairie girls high school team had 3 top 10 finishers at the Logos Invitational. Aubree Geis was 7^th in 22:09.0. Olivia Uhlenkott was 9^th in 22:22.4. Evelyn Gehring was 10^th in 22:24.6.
As a team the girls placed 3^rd behind Garfield-Palouse and Grangeville. Callie Remacle was 23^rd in 25:44.4. Ella McLeo was 30^th in 30:32.7 and Alaina Lustig was 31^st in 31:23.5.
The high school boys team had just 4 runners participating led by Ben Secrest, who finished 17^th in 19:39.9. Jackson Enneking was 27^th in 20:30.9. Max Rehder was 41^st in 23:17.9 and Landon Riener was 45^th in 26:26.6.
The junior high boys race was the final one of the season for Prairie. Phineas Fitch and Matthew Jones finished 1-2 in the race as Fitch was timed in 9:27.8 and Jones in 10:16.4. Gabe Severns was 10^th in 11:05.3. Anthony Forsmann was 23^rd in 14:37.5.
The Winchester Run Around the Lake was the final regular season race for the team.
Uhlenkott and Geis finished 1-
2 in the girls high school race. Uhlenkott had a time of 23:50.7 and Geis had a time of 23:55.4. Remacle was 5^th in 28:14.9 while McLeod was 7^th in 30:55.7 and Lustig was 8^th in 31:06.
There were just 8 runners in the race and Prairie was the only school with enough runners for a team.
In the boys race Riener was 12^th in 26:13.4. Zane Uptmor was 13^th in 27:08.6. Dylan Klapprich was 14^th in 27:33.2 and Gabe DeCaria was 15^th in 29:21.2.
The District meet will be held at the LCSC course near Lewiston High School this Thursday, Oct. 19 with the girls race set to start at 2 p.m. The boys race will follow at 2:45. At about 3:30 there will be a JV race.
