Improvements made to Tolo Lake site
It may not be the field of dreams,
but Tolo Lake is a pretty darn neat area tucked smack dab in
the middle of the Camas Prairie just west of the town of Grangeville.
Out of the 50 total access sites in the Clearwater Region, Tolo Lake is
one of the most visited sites as it is used as a rest stop for
motorists traveling north or south on highway 95. However, if that is
all you use Tolo Lake for, you are missing out on a hidden gem that
provides surprisingly good fishing for crappie, blue gill, channel
catfish, and trout. To better accommodate anglers, Tolo Lake received some well-deserved attention this past year including: Addition of a new 60' fishing dock on the north side of the lake Improvement of the shoreline fishing access trail Removal of brush along the banks to provide better shoreline fishing opportunities Improvements in spring flow to the lake to enhance fishing and water quality Stabilization of the lake’s outlet Fish and Game is excited to share these developments with you and we hope anglers will take this opportunity to enjoy some of the improvements at Tolo Lake sportsman's access area! Dock construction kept access crews busy this winter. Decking was built and attached to framing at the regional office in Lewiston. Photos provided by Idaho Fish & Game. Crews install the new dock. The new dock is installed and ready for use. Vegetation was removed along the banks to provide better access to shoreline fishing. All photos provided by Idaho Fish & Game. |
