18 turn out for PHS boys basketball PIRATES BOYS BASKETBALL SCHEDULE FOR 2023-24
There are 18 players turned out for Prairie boys basketball this year led by 3 seniors. Those 3 seniors are returning starters Noah Behler, Lee Forsmann and Trenton Lorentz. There are 5 juniors on this year’s squad. Returning starter Matt Wemhoff along with Briggs Rambo and Logan Weber will be on the varsity while Cole Duclos and Collin Ray are on the JV team. The biggest group on the team are the sophomores with 10 representatives. Riley Shears started a lot of games last year with Levi Gehring, Phil Schwartz and Nate Forsmann also on the varsity. Jackson Enneking, Ben Secrest, Chase VonBargen, Max Rehder, Chris Schumacher and Caden Armbrust are on the JV team. There are only 2 freshmen out this year: Kade Quintal and Kaicon Downing, who will both be on the JV. Tim Scheffler returns for his second year as the head coach with Teel Bruner returning as JV coach and Pat Holthaus as an assistant coach. Scheffler says he likes the experience coming back and feels they have more depth than they had last season.
