To the Library and Beyond We have enjoyed some snowy weather, just in time for the first day of Winter on Thursday, 21 December. We’ll be celebrating December 21 with a couple of other events because it is Crossword Puzzle Day, so those of us who enjoy a crossword puzzle now and then should probably consider this a special day of some sort, but don’t tell your boss that I said it was a national holiday. The other cause for this day of merriment is National Short Story Day, an excellent reason to find a book of short stories and take a few minutes here and there to read a new story. Of course if you aren’t too busy, you could write your own short story, as short as three pages or as long as 15 pages. How are we progressing with learning a foreign language? And how are you enjoying that new book? If you have already written to your friends, you are doing better than I am. The volunteers who manage Prairie Community Library value commitment to service and we want you to know that we are committed to serving your literary needs. We invite our patrons to recommend improvements to the organization’s direction, priorities and customer service when we reopen. |
