New physical therapist at St. Mary's Health
St. Mary’s Health is delighted to welcome Ben Detweiler, DPT, to our
healthcare team. With a passion for improving patients’ lives, Ben is
expanding the exceptional care St. Mary’s Physical Therapy team is
proud to offer.
Ben brings a wealth of experience and expertise, having worked in various healthcare settings and specializing in physical therapy. After graduating from the University of Nebraska, he attended Creighton University and obtained his Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) in 1998. Ben and his family are long-time Grangeville residents, and he will be a familiar face to many. “I enjoy helping patients of all ages and abilities reach their maximum functional capacity, and working with a team who is committed to providing the best care possible. I wanted to work for an organization with qualified and experienced leadership and be part of a healthcare team with a commitment to invest in this community and foster a culture of patient-centered care of the highest quality, with the greatest level of compassion,” says Ben. Ben is not only proficient in traditional physical therapy techniques, he also obtained his Functional Manual Therapy Certificate in 2022, after 10 years of study and testing. He is now one of only five Certified Functional Manual Therapists (CFMT) in the state of Idaho. Ben’s genuine concern for the welfare of his patients fosters a supportive environment, which is integral to successful rehabilitation outcomes. Beyond his professional qualifications, Ben is a devoted family man and an avid outdoorsman. When he’s not treating patients, he and fellow SMH Physical Therapist, Dustin Elliot, own and operate Western Meats. Please extend a warm welcome to Ben. His expertise, compassion, and dedication make a positive difference in the lives of those we serve, and we look forward to the invaluable contributions Ben will undoubtedly make to our clinics and our communities for many years to come.
