Sun safety event offered prior to concert
Public Health-Idaho North Central District (PH-INCD) invites you to join us at Cottonwood City Park on August 8, 2024, for sun safety and the effects of ultraviolet (UV) radiation.
The City of Cottonwood is hosting a free concert in the park by the Camas Prairie Community Band.  The live performance is from 7:00-8:00 p.m. and will be in the new City Park Pavilion.
Before the main event, Health Educator Specialists with PH-INCD will be on hand at 6:30 p.m. for Sun Safety Education.  This includes fun activities for kids as they learn how to stay safe in the sun, complimentary water bottles and sunglasses, and connections to community resources.
Idaho ranks 1st among U.S. states for deaths due to melanoma.  Most skin cancers are caused by too much exposure to UV light, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.  Protection from UV rays is important all year.
