5 finish in top ten at Moose Creek Invite Updated Prairie Cross Country Schedule for 2024Prairie’s first cross country meet of the season was at Moose Creek Reservoir near Bovill. Prairie had 5 runners finish in the top 10. On the girls’ side freshman Reagan Brannan finished in 4th place in 28:34.0 while sophomore Ella McLeod was 6th in 28:50.0. Evelyn Gehring finished 12th despite taking a wrong turn on the course. She had a time of 33:51.0. Lillianne Lustig was 15th in 35:29.0. For the boys team freshman Phineas Fitch placed 4th in 20:08.0 to lead the boys team to a first place finish. They edged Nezperce 23 to 32 with the low score winning in cross country. Also in the top 10 were junior Chase VonBargen in 8th at 21:51.0 and freshman Matthew Jones in 10th in 2:26.0. Exchange student Kento Morita finished in 20th in 26:11.0 while junior Landon Riener was 25th in 30.04, freshman Onyx Lish was 26th in 31:13.0, sophomore Gabe Decaria was 28th in 31:36.0, freshman Kade Hansen was 29th in 31:45.0 and freshman Joe Shaw was 30th in 33:46.0. The team’s next meet is Wednesday, Sept. 11 at the Seaport Invite at Clarkston. The junior high team will also be at that meet.  Freshman Phineas Fitch was the top boys finisher as he placed 4th.  Reagan Brannan was the top girls finisher as she also placed 4th.   Chase VonBargen was 8th and Matthew Jones was 10th.
