To The Editor,
As I was helping a team of us talk to voters about Prop 1, I found that there are still a lot of people out there that don't realize the gravity of this initiative.
Realize that passing this measure may well end our ability to fairly elect our government officers and representatives.
Here are just some of the things it will change:
Counting ballots by hand will become impossible.
Counting ballots locally for non-local offices will become impossible.
Auditing an election will become impossible.
A vote of "no confidence" will become impossible.
A write-in vote in the general election will become impossible.
The one-person one-vote concept will be destroyed.
Election fraud will become rampant.
Elections will become far more complex, inefficient and costly.
Primary elections will become a farce.
Party control of which candidate represents them will be destroyed.
Yes - democratic representation will effectively be destroyed.
This is why the Communist Party, the most anti-democratic organization on earth, has openly endorsed Ranked Choice Voting since 1900.
Please vote, and vote NO on Prop 1!
