Cross Country at 3 meets The Prairie Cross Country teams were at 3 different meets this past week. On Tuesday, Oct. 8 they were at the CV-K Invite at the Kooskia Fish Hatchery. On Saturday, Oct. 12, they were at the Inland Empire Invitational at the Lewiston Orchards. Finally on Monday, Oct. 14, the junior high runners only were at the Troy Invitational. CV-K Invite
Evelyn Gehring was the top high school finisher at the
CV-K Invite at the Kooskia National Fish Hatchery as she placed 4th in
the girls race in 24:44. Prairie finished 1st as a team as they were
the only school in attendance able to field a team. Ella McLeod and Callie Remacle also had top 10 finishes. McLeod was 6th in 26:04 and Remacle was 10th in 28:13. Lillianne Lustig was 13th in 29:49 and Bella Musick was 19th in 40:14. Phineas Fitch was the top finisher for the boys team as he placed 6th in 19:06. As a team the boys placed 5th with 90 points. Landon Riener was 23rd in 23:46 with Joe Shaw in 27th in 24:40. Gabe Decaria was 32nd in 26:28 and Kade Hanson was 33rd in 26:45. Madalynn VonBargen was 4th in the junior high girls race in 15:29. It was a much bigger meet at Lewiston on Saturday with the Prairie High School runners competing in the JV races.
Fitch placed 4th in the JV boys race in 17:55 as Prairie placed 5th among 10 teams with 125 points. Chase VonBargen made the top 10 in 10th place with a time of 18:26. Matthew Jones 29th in 19:32. Kento Morita was 55th in 21:07. Riener was 86th in 23:15. Hanson was 94th in 24:03. Decaria was 96th in 24:11 and Shaw was 101st in 25:22. Gehring was the top girls finisher in 12th place in 23:46. McLeod was 21st in 25:00. Remacle was 28th in 26:33. Lustig was 44th in 28:53 and Musick was 55th in 34:15. As a team the girls placed 5th with 106 pts. In the junior high races Koyle Jones was 11th in the boys race in 9:38 while VonBargen was 33rd in the girls race in 11:38. Troy Invitational
The Troy Invitational was the final race of the season for Prairie’s two junior high runners.
Koyle Jones placed first out of 10 runners with a time of 9:40.4 while Madalynn VonBargen placed 2nd out of 5 runners with a time of 12:14.1. The next meet for the high school team will be the District Meet at the Lewiston Orchards on Thursday, Oct. 24.
