Election results We may be a couple weeks late but following are the results from the Nov. 5 general election. For U.S. President, former Republican President Donald Trump was elected to a second term with 312 electoral votes and 76,842,134 votes nationwide to 226 electoral votes and 74,341,050 for Democrat Kamala Harris. In Idaho Trump received 605,144 votes to 274,973 for Harris and in Idaho County Trump received 8,148 votes to 1,460 for Harris. In Congressional District 1, Republican Russ Fulcher was re-elected with 331,049 votes to 118,656 for Democrat Kaylee Peterson. In Idaho County the vote totals were 7,881 for Fulcher and 1,425 for Peterson. In State Legislative District 7, Republican Cindy Carlson was re-elected as State Senator with 19,918 votes to 6,526 for Democrat Bill Farmer. In Idaho County the totals were 7,962 for Carlson and 1,718 for Farmer. For District 7 State Representative Seat A, Republican Kyle N. Harris received 19,797 votes to 6,457 for Democrat Vickie Nostrant. In Idaho County the totals were 8,074 for Harris and 1,471 for Nostrant. For District 7 State Representative Seat B, Republican Charlie Shepherd was re-elected with 20,222 votes to 5,984 for Democrat Dustin Hardisty. In Idaho County the totals were 8,247 for Shepherd to 1,321 for Hardisty. The Idaho County races were all won by unopposed Republicans. Skip Brandt won re-election as District 1 County Commissioner with 8,082 votes. Brad Higgins was elected District 3 County Commissioner with 8,451 votes. He replaces Denis Duman, who had declined to run for re-election. Doug Ulmer was re-elected as Sheriff with 8,710 votes. Kirk McGregor was re-elected as Idaho County Prosecuting Attorney with 8,391 votes. In the statewide issues, HJR 5 was approved with 572,865 yes votes to 209,456 no votes. In Idaho County the totals were 6,561 yes and 3,154 no. Proposition 1 was defeated with 269,960 yes votes and 618,753 no votes. In Idaho County there were 1,634 yes votes and 8,129 no votes. |
