Lewis-Clark Valley Healthcare Foundation Approves 14 Large ImpactGrants Totaling nearly $700,000
“We are pleased to announce the Lewis-Clark
Valley Healthcare Foundation has approved 14large Impact Grants
totaling $699,117 to area charitable organizations to promote the
health, wellness and disease prevention of persons within the
Foundation’s Service Area”, said Desiree Prohaska, Executive Vice
President & Chief Wealth Management Officer of Idaho Trust Bank,
Trustee of the Foundation. The Foundation’s Service Area includes nine
counties: Clearwater, Idaho, Latah, Lewis and Nez Perce in Idaho;
Asotin, Garfield and Whitman in Washington; and Wallowa in Oregon. The large Impact Grant is intended for grant requests up to $100,000 and priority is given to applicants that demonstrate a commitment to long-term vision, and projects that address theroot causes that affect health, wellness, and help disease prevention. The Foundation’s volunteer Board of Community Advisors reviewed all of the grant applications received by the Foundation and made grant award recommendations to the Trustee. Chairman of the Board of Community Advisors, Joe Travis, stated “On behalf of the Board of Community Advisors, I want to thank all of the non-profit organizations that applied for grant funding this year. It’s obvious from the number of requests we received that there is no shortage of need to improve our health care system in our nine-county region. We are glad to be able to fund the top requests in this very competitive grant cycle.” “Earlier this year, the Foundation awarded over $390,000 in Fast Track grants, bringing the combined total awarded for Fast Track and large Impact Grants during 2024 to over $1,089,000. The Foundation is pleased to be able to fund grants that support a variety of initiatives that address critical health challenges and promote wellness in the community,” said Desiree Prohaska. The 2024 grant recipients will be recognized at a Grant Award Celebration on December 12th,2024. The Lewis-Clark Valley Healthcare Foundation was established in 2017 by Idaho Attorney General Lawrence Wasden as part of the sale of St. Joseph Regional Medical Center by Ascension Health to RCCH Healthcare Partners. The Idaho Attorney General’s office established specific guidelines for the grants. Those eligible to apply for grants are nonprofit tax-exempt organizations with 501(c)(3) classification from the IRS, or governmental entities, if used exclusively for charitable purposes of the trust. All proposals must be for health, wellness or disease prevention to qualify. Idaho Trust Bank administers the Foundation as its Trustee.
