Lady Pirates win twice
The
Prairie Lady Pirates won a pair of league games to close out the 2024
portion of their schedule. On Tuesday, Dec. 17 they won at Kamiah 54-30
and on Friday, Dec. 20, they beat Logos 91-12 at Cottonwood. At Kamiah In the game against Kamiah, Prairie never trailed but they didn’t really pull away from the Kubs until the second half.Hailey Hanson started the scoring with a free throw. When she missed the second one, Kylie Schumacher rebounded and scored to make it 3-0. After Kamiah scored, Kylie Schumacher scored another put back then a steal by Hanson led to a lay-up by Lexi Schumacher. Lexi then hit a 3 to make it 10-2. After a second Kamiah basket, Hanson sank a 3 to make it 13-4. Kamiah scored a basket to make it 13-6 at the end of the first quarter. Kamiah opened the second quarter with 4 free throws to pull within 3 at 13-10. Prairie then scored 8 straight points to take their first double digit lead. Sage Elven stole the ball and scored a lay-up. Kylie Schumacher converted a 3-point play and Lexi Schumacher sank her second 3 of the game to make it 21-10. After 4 Kamiah points, Ellie Nuxoll scored a pair of free throws. After a Kamiah basket, Prairie closed out the half with 6 straight points. Elven made 2 free throws, Nuxoll scored a putback and Mia Anderson banked in a 16 footer. That made it 29-16 at the half. Prairie dominated the third quarter, outscoring Kamiah 14-3. Sydney Shears and Kylie Schumacher each scored to open the quarter. After a basket by Kamiah, Prairie scored 9 straight points. Lexi Schumacher scored after a steal. Elven scored in close. Lexi added another basket and Nuxoll scored a putback after a Kamiah free throw, Kylie Schumacher scored to make it 43-19 after 3 quarters. Kamiah scored to open the fourth quarter then Nadia Cash scored a short bank shot. Kamiah scored 5 straight points but Prairie answered with 7 straight. Lexi Schumacher scored a lay-up and Elven scored a pair of putbacks, adding a free throw after the second for a 3-point play. Kamiah scored a pair of baskets and Cash closed out the scoring with a drive for a lay-up. Lexi Schumacher scored 14 to lead all scorers. Elven had a double-double with 11 points and 15 rebounds. Kylie Schumacher almost had a double-double as well with 11 points and 9 rebounds. Nuxoll scored 6 with Hanson and Cash scoring 4 each and Shears and Anderson 2 each. Prairie had a 45-33 edge on the boards. Lexi Schumacher had 6 steals and 3 assist. Kylie Schumacher had 5 steals and Elven had 4. Hanson had 5 assists to lead the team. Prairie was 22 for 70 from the field, 31%, and 7 for 11 at the line, 64%. Kamiah was 11 for 33 from the field, 33%, and 8 for 18 at the line, 44%. There was no JV game. total mismatch. Prairie had their highest scoring output of the year
and the Knights were never in the game.Prairie started with a 12-0 run. Kylie Schumacher scored first then Elven added a pair of baskets. A basket each by Lexi Schumacher, Shears and Elven made it 12-0. Logos finally scored at the 4:06 mark. Prairie then scored 7 straight, 3 by Elven and 2 each by Kylie and Lexi Schumacher. After a second Logos baskets. Prairie ended the first quarter with a 13-0 run. Lexi Schumacher started it with a 3. Next was a reverse lay-up by Shears, a lay-up by Cash, and 3 lay-ups by Lexi Schumacher to make it 32-4 at the end of the first quarter. Logos scored the first points of the second quarter at the 7:25 mark and then didn’t score again until the 7:18 mark of the fourth quarter. Prairie closed out the half with a 21-0 run for a 53-6 halftime lead. Lexi Schumacher scored 8 to give her 21 points at halftime. Hanson added 6 points, Nuxoll 3 and Shears and Aubree Rehder 2 each. Prairie outscored Logos 24-0 in the third quarter. Lexi Schumacher scored 5, including a 3-pointer. Shears scored 2 free throws and a basket while Elven and Rehder each had 2 baskets for 4 points each. Hanson hit a 3 and Cash and Nuxoll added 2 points each. Logos scored the first 5 points of the fourth quarter for their only time in the game with more than 1 basket. Lexi Schumacher scored a lay-up then Logos scored their final point at the free throw line. Prairie closed the game with a 12-0 run. Kylie Schumacher scored a lay-up. Rehder scored a lay-up. Lexi Schumacher converted a 3-point play and added a lay-up. Kylie then scored a basket and a free throw to put Prairie over 90 points. Lexi Schumacher scored 33 to lead all scorers. Elven and Shears were also in double figures with 13 and 10 points respectively. Hanson and Kylie Schumacher scored 9 each. Rehder scored 8. Nuxoll scored 5 and Cash scored 4. Prairie had a 45-32 advantage on the boards led by Shears who nearly had her first ever double-double with 9 rebounds. Kylie Schumacher added 8 and Cash 7 rebounds. Elven had a double double with 10 steals while Shears added 5 steals. Prairie totaled 29 assists in the game led by Elven with 7 while Hanson and Nuxoll had 5 each. Prairie was 41 for 71 from the field, 58%, and 6 for 12 at the line, 50%. Logos was 5 for 49 from the field, 10%, and 2 for 3 at the line, 67%.
