Patriot have busy week
The St. John Bosco Lady Patriots were 2-2 in a busy week of basketball. On Tuesday, Jan. 23, they hosted Deary and lost 20-47. On Thursday, Jan. 25, they played at Highland and won 42-29. On Friday, Jan. 26, they played the home makeup game against Kendrick and lost 24-63. Finally, on Monday, Jan. 29, they hosted the Clarkston JV and won in overtime 54-51. Meanwhile the boys team were 1-3 on the week. On Tuesday, Jan.23, they hosted Deary and lost 56-63. On Thursday, Jan. 25, they lost at Highland, 34-58. On Friday, Jan. 26, they hosted Kendrick in the makeup of a postponed game and lost 22-78. Finally on Monday, they hosted Logos Online and won 57-45. . . .

St. John Bosco Academy seventh grade student AnnaMae Cummings won 1st place at the state level in the VFW's Patriots Pen essay contest.  She was presented with a plaque, certificate, and other goodies by District Two Commander Lee Hartwig.  She also received a scholarship check for $500.  Her essay has been forwarded to the national competition level.  AnnaMae is pictured receiving her certificate with Chaplain David Frei (left) and Lee Hartwig.
